A8N SLI Deluxe unable to OC

My system runs perfectly when not overclocked. Prime stable (32c cpu after 24 hours), memtest perfect (24 hours), games run fine. WHen I raise the HTT bus, however, I get boot failure. WHEn I reset the bios, windows won't run and must be re-installed. This happens even if I set the htt multiplier@3 mem @ 200 and cpu multiplier @ 4. I am about to give up and replace with a DFI if no one can help. It almost seems as if the HD is being OCed along with the HTT.

CPU: winchester 3000+
MB: A8n SLI Deluxe Bios 1003 and 1004 (final version)
HD: Raptor 74 GB (used both default windows and Nvidia drivers)(PCI locked @33.333)
DvD: Sony 16X
Memory: G.Skill ddr 550 (runs memtest stable @400 2-2-2-5)
Video: Leadtek 6800GT (just one, no SLI yet)
HSF: XP-120 with Antec 120MM fan
Power SUpply: Dual Power Supply Antec 350w on HD, dvd, floppy, and fans
OCZ 520W on Motherboard and Video Card.
 
I'm not sure about the NF4's, but with my NF3, the SATA ports 3 and 4 are the only ones locked from HTT raising.

Try those ports 3 and 4?
 
Can you install nTune and check the HTT multi with it? There is a bug in some bioses that does not allow to drop HTT multi. I.e. No matter what you set in BIOS, it will be running 5x. Mine does. I can only check and alter it with nTune.

I guess your problems are more serious then this, but just a suggestion
 
I checked this, and you are correct. No matter the multiplier, HTT always appears at 1005. What can I do now? Wait for a new bios revision? Replace the board?

I guess those are two options, you choose. btw, if you drop the Htt multi in nTune can you overclock then? my problem was that 230 htt limit and lowering htt multi in windows helped.
 
I guess I could overclock from windows, but there are not as many options as in the Bios. If I oc the HTT too high in the bios, the HD won't initialize and will corrupt whatever files are on it. This happens prior to windows loading, and the multiplier adjustment taking effect.

Thank everyone who has helped so far. I seem to have found the problem: the HTT multiplier adjustment in the Bios doesn't work. If anyone has any suggestions other than a new board or new Bios (I've used 1004 and 1003) let me know.
 
Is there a solution to fix the HDD corruption from the HTT OC? I had the same thing happen to me and one of the .dll files needs to be replaced. Problem is I don't know which one it is.
 
I oced, and occassionaly, windows would give me an error message about somethign got corruptted. But once I reboot and lower my OC settings, the message disappeared and machine booted normally. So, some of the error messages are probably just results of your memory not being able to sustain the high OC. Try go back down on your OC, reboot, and see if it helps.
 
get a ide hd and try to OC...I bet it works fine...the SATA ports arn't locking at their correct MHZ...it will just take an hour to test...but I bet I am right

make sure PCI bus is locked to 33MHz this will affect hard drives.

Also some NCQ drives don't work as well as some BIOS are flawed. Make sure you are on the latest 1004.
 
Update your bios to latest beta 1007-004,the bios changes a lot !It makes my 3200+ work stably at 2.5G (250x10).And it may give you some help!
