A8N-SLI deluxe problems

My chipset fan on my A8N SLI has been acting screwy. Sometimes the fan runs at the full 8000 RPM and other times it runs at 600 RPM and I get all kinds of warnings about the fan. Also a while ago it had totally given up and would not even turn at all.

I've been testing with both Asus probe (came with the board) and watching the BIOS during boot up.

Specs:
AMD 3500+
Antec Neopower 480W
A8N-SLI Deluxe (of course)
BFG 6800GT (Came OC'ed)
Audigy 2 ZS Gamer
Zalman 7000AlCu
1gig of Kingston HyperX PC3200 (2x512)
Raptor Hard drive
An IDE hard drive ( I don't know much about it)
 
I had problems with my fan also not running properly and making loud whining noises. I called Asus and they sent me a new fan. I installed it and has been running perfectly since.
 
How did you get in touch with them? I've sent them e-mails but they never respond.

Also, WHOA! We have almost the exact same system specs.
 
this issue alone makes me wary of this board. this seems like a widespread problem too, not isolated since many people are reporting similar symptoms.
