A8n-SLI Deluxe - no internet

HELP!
I just got my a8n-sli Deluxe in and installed Windows xp sp2 rolled. While there were some sata/ide issues, I was able to fix that problem. The real pain in the neck is that I can't get the internet to work. I have tried both onboard adaptors and neither one will pull and address from my motorala surfboard 2400 modem. I know that the modem works because my other box works just fine. I tried to reinstall the drivers - no change, I even disabled the onboard cards and installed a working 3-com nic and no change. Finally, I even hooked up the cable modem to the usb port and STILL no luck. When I type ipconfig /renew it waits and then says "dhcp server not available." I installed the firewall software and turned it of on all interfaces, and even updated to the newer bios - nothing. Is there something I'm missing here? Should I return this for another board? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

did you install the nvidia firewall? Check firewalls they may need to be turned off/ configured.

I got not connection before installing the nvidia firewall so I installed it and turned it off but that did not solve the problem. The Windows XP firewall is also turned off. arghh

It sounds like you did this but... You installed all the drivers for the onboard network ports?

Are the two network adapters showing up in the device manager? If so, do they have red x's on them?

hello everyone, i installed SP2 a whle ago but on the reboot my screen turned blue for a split second after the lady inside my computer said it finished POSTing and then it rebooted again only this time i got the options to go into safe mode, which i did, then i restored my point just before SP2. I made a report to microsoft, just in case.

hello again, okay now my system is messed up, i get the blue screen for a sec on the window xp screen then afterwards i try to boot form last known good configuration and it still does it, even the safe modes don't do it.

okay the safe mode with MS DOS works , what should i type in there to get me inside XP? Help?
