A8N-E 2T bug

I have the A8N-E identical to this board less the SLI.
The board was never able to run the crossair 2GB kit (CMX1024-4000) on 1T command. I researched the net and there is what so called the 2T bug. My AMD 64 XP 3200+ is overclocked at 2380 Mhz and the RAM is at 238 Mhz. BIOS is at 1013 (latest)

Any solution?

Thanks

i don't know about the 2T bug. i have the SLI Premium and it will run ram at 1T up until about 255 then it must run at 2T, from what my tests have been showing.

i'm currently running some corsair 2x1gb pc4400 @ 281 1:1 3-4-4-8 2T 2.8v (281x9)

before the corsair, i had 2x1gb ballistix pc4000 and it wouldn't do much over 250 on 1T, but i was happy at 250x10. i wish i had written down the bandwidth results before removing the ballistix to compare them to the corsair @ 281 2T.

Can I relax the timing? timming now is 3-3-3-7 2T @ 238 Mhz, 2.7v. How about uping the voltage on the RAM?

2T bug is a fact of life with that board - accept it and they can be good clockers - ususally hit 300-320 on the fsb.

Yep, it's never going to do 238 at 1T. You should be able to run 1T using a divider thus a lower ram speed.

Which is better? running at 238 @ 2T or let us say if use a lower multiplier like 9x with 280 Mhz at 2T with 3-4-4-8?

Thanks.

if you can run your chip at 280 and your ram under 235-240, then use 1T, otherwise run your ram if it can at 1:1 at 280 at 2T - dropping to 2T isn't as big a deal as the hype might indicate.

Amzingly, now I am running @ 250 MHz HTT, 9.5x, CPU at 2375 Mhz with Memory at 1:1 at 250 Mhz with 3-3-3-7 @ 2T stable with 2.7 volts. CPU Temp underload is 48c-49c using AMD stock heatsink/fan! PCIe is at 2500 Mhz tried to OC PCIe from 100 to 120 and system was unstable

1T is not stabled again. BSOD!

Now it might be the right time to get an X2 with nice cooler (Scythe' Ninja or similar)
