IIRC, getting an accurate temp from these APU's is tricky?

What are you using to monitor the temp?

With the case open and the CPU reading hot, reach in and carefully feel the heat sink. If the CPU is too hot, the heat sink will also be quite warm.

i`m not using the video card , i just mentioned it because i tought since its a hibryd it might add more power consumtion to the chip and heat it up even more , there`s no discussion or anything about the igpu not working 🙂 , so yeah basicaly when my cpu uses turbo mode and passes the 70+ i loose video signal i cant force shutdown , i can hear the fan working , i can only unplug it to shut it down

I`m using easytune6 from the motherboard amd overdrive and hwinfo are saying the same temperaturees , i used to have issues with reading temperatures on my old board , got a fm2+ board and it seems accurate i guess .

Your chip isn't meant to get that hot, so obviously some subsystem is failing thanks to the CPU bugging out. Turn off turbo or use amdmsrtweaker to fix the p-state voltages, and use offsets to fix the default vcore.

What video is failing?

Is it the video that's built into the A8-6600K chip?

Or is it a separate video card?

If it's a separate video card, what card is it?

i`m using sapphire r9 290 tri-x OC , if i use the build in gpu from the chip it does the same thing with turbo mode . Gona try amdmsrtweaker see if it works thanks for the tip!

I wouldn't have thought the OP was a spammer.

Then again, I just returned to the DIY PC world after a long absence.

So after days of test and tweaking i managed to get it work but now my cpu throttles like hell , and hwinfo shows core power of 182W is this accurate or normal for this cpu , without the igpu in function ? thanks.

BTW : Talked to amd they said to rmah the cpu thats a bummer 🙁

cpu 0 package shows 98 C is that the socket temperature ?

Strange, the link works for me.

Do a google search for:

Package temperature Richland APU forums.amd.com

The URL I posted will be the top result.
