Hello , i`m new to this forum , i thought i would give it a try maybe someone can help me out.

My current issue is with my cpu turbo mode on it gets very hot and i loose my video signal , it goes around 76 before it goes bang. My only guess is the core voltage during turbo mode which jumps to 1.4.35 /1.475 and cpu total power is 145 acording to hw during a small few seconds of prime test . Using a gigabyte f2a88xm-ds2 mb .

Make sure you have the latest bios for that board. A newer bios, if available, might give better results.
Next, if you are using the stock aluminum heatsink, and you know for sure that the thermal compound is applied correctly, and not too much, then it may be time for a better heatsink.
Do not get a tower heatsink. Air will not flow over the MOSFETs and performance will get worse. Get a phenom II style heatsink with heat pipes. Air still flows down and out over the MOSFETs.

1.475v will need an aftermarket heat-sink, have you OCed and increased the CPU voltage ??

Try BIOS as said, make sre there is no auto overclockign enabled in BIOS. And try reseat the heatsink if you still got issues. Remember thermal paste only needs to be razor thin.

I have tried with all bios versions from F4 to F8 for my board all are giving me voltage range in turbo mode from 1.435 to 1.475 , without turbo mode my cpu operates around 44 C in games and prime , the cpu doesnt have any oc in bios , i can OC without turbo mode and it doesnt have any issues ,my only concern is why is doing this and what could be the culprit , i still have warranty so i wana know whats the issue is the motherboard or the cpu, i`m using a alman CNPS5X Performa its not great but beats be stock cooler + 4 120 mm fan in my case , as i said i have no issues without turbo mode enabled.

anyone has any ideea whats the stock voltage voltaje and the turbo boost mode voltaje that it should have ? i`m thinking it might definataly be the motherboard .

I don't know what the stock voltages are for the 6600k, but cpu-world published some of the p-states:

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-A8-Series A8-6600K - AD660KWOA44HL.html

Namely:

#1: 4200 MHz, 1.35V
#2: 4100 MHz, 1.275V
#3: 4000 MHz, 1.2V

If you don't feel like hand-tuning your voltage in the BIOS, try a tool like amdmsrtweaker, which, admittedly, may be about as easy-to-use as messing with the BIOS.

But

Your board is majorly overvolting your CPU, and the cutoff temp for that CPU is 74C. No wonder you are having problems!

I would turn off turbo and manually oc all cores to the max turbo clocks and never look back.

Thank you very much , i wasnt positive that my motherboard is overvolting my cpu by alot , but now i`m positive that the mb has an issue , going to send it to warranty .
The motherboard doesnt let me choose the voltage in bios i can just set + / auto or normal . I`m going to oc it without using turbo boost till i send it to warranty thanks again !

In my experience, the auto voltage setting in gigabyte bios is to automatically supply extra voltage. Have you tried the other options?

Hello , yes i have tried to set to manual , and the other setting doesnt let me choose the voltage just offset +0000 something like that . If the autovoltage is set to add extra voltage then its way to much , i had no issue on my old board which was a msi board , going from 1.315 to 1.475 its quite alot for turbo mode 4.2 . I`t doesnt bother me at all since i can use manual settings and set it to 4.2 without a problem , even @ 3.9 ghz normal voltage is set to 1.375 . I`ll just send it to warranty !

Why not? my old msi and asus board didnt had this issue , even with turbo mode enabled the cpu should overheat and shutdown the pc like its doing on this gigabyte board ?

With the ASUS A88XM-Plus 4.3GHz (turbo off) was fine with just +0.0125v offset. Any good mobo should be fine with those settings.

Ye its working fine without turbo mode with those settings thanks AtenRa , but can you tell me what voltaje u get with +0.0125 in total?

Turbo mode was probably meant for a system with a better cooling solution.

hmm i`m not saying it`s not but , since turbo mode voltaje should be 1.35 and not 1.475 like i`m getting on this board there`s definetaly an issue , on my old board i didnt had this problem

Again, the motherboard is doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing when in auto mode. It is "auto"matically adding extra voltage. Have you tried leaving it in "normal" mode and reading the voltage there?
Sending in for warranty is probably not going to do you any good, they will test it and send back. "performing as intended"

Auto is supposed to follow chip vid and stock p-states, not overvolt the hell out of the thing. Plenty of boards do this anyway, but 1.475v is insane. I was a bit miffed that my A88x-Pro thought 1.31v vcore was "normal" for stock settings (it isn't, the vid for the chip shows up as 1.2125v in the UEFI rev I use presently).

If it were me, I'd tune the voltage through the offsets and be done with it. That being said, big minus on Cosmyn for not doing homework on the UEFI features before buying the board.

I have tried with manual voltage i still get 1.475 with turbo mode . Indeed big minus to me , i just had a previous msi board and i had no issues with turbo mode enabled :(

BTW i`m not even usign the integrated graphic card.

How would the two be related then?

Why would a hot CPU cause a discrete video card to malfunction?

76C isn't really too hot for the CPU anyway.

I think you have led us down the wrong path by making us think you were using the APU graphics.

you`re confusing me a bit , first of all i said my cpu doesnt work with turbo boost mode , and 76C is very hot for this cpu , not sure if its related or not but since the chip has a igpu shouldnt it consume more power with the integrated graphics? just an off-topic question.

Not sure what I was thinking, 76C is too hot for that CPU.

But I still don't see how it is going to make your video card act up.
