hi i just got all my parts and am putting this beast together heres what it is
amd athlon xp2400
a7v8x (deluxe)
kingston 256 mb pc2700 ram
seagate 80 gb 7200rpm barracuda hard drive
52x cdrom
sis 6326 pci video card (tempary till i get my 9700 pro
)
300 wat psu
alright i tried to install windows 98se with no boot disk. didnt think this would be a problem with no boot disk cause it was a bootable cdrom. so i took the hard drive out put it on my other system and got it running with windows 98se without installing drivers for it cause it was gonna go in my new system. windows worked on my old system. put it into my new one got to the begining of windows and windows wanted too install some bridges and soo i thought i would skip all this and then run it from the cd. but after i skipped all of it it just sat there with a desktop no icons or start bar. so i decided too just install off the cd and low and behold no cd-rom detected. so i tried it on cable select nothing stil wouldnt recognize the cd-rom. tried a different cd-rom same thing, no cdrom detected, but the cd would come up in dos so i no that the cd rom worked. so i go hell if 98se doesnt wanna work i will try ME so i format the sucker with a format c:/s and try too put ME in it no luck said something about the drive not being big enuf and im like hmm freshly formated 80 gig hard drive with not enuf room i dont think so. so i run fdisk and repartitioned it. now it wont let me do any DIR/w commands or anything. grrrrrrrrrrrr.
