A7V333 and Smartmedia Support?

I've recently read that the Asus A7V333 (and maybe other board) has Support Smart Card/MS/SD reader. I was wondering what exactly does this "Support" mean?
Anyone seen this thing or read about it?

The board has pin headers for a SmartCard reader unit from ASUS. You can then use this option to control access to your computer.

Not really. Since I am not located in the US, anything I tell you is probably meaningless.

I'm sure they're a pain to get, I'd think that buying a regular USB smartmedia reader would save a lot of trouble.
