Just installed the new mobo and all seems OK so far, just minor issues. XP1600 seems to run a little warm and the Chrome Orb looks to be inadequate.

I can't find a way to make the onboard sound "disappear". Selecting it off in the BIOS doesnt stop it loading up and asking for drivers. Can't see a jumper for it where. If you know how to disable it, I'd like to hear about it thanks.

Ticking over nicely otherwise. 🙂

I like that board, I just don't like the price. I wouldn't know how to switch off the onboard sound though, unless you haven't RTFM 🙂
Enjoy the nice board, you lucky money having bastard !!! :|

Gotta be a BIOS setting or jumper. If not you'd have to disable all of it in Windows which sounds kludgy to me.

Try messing with the Bass/center, center/bass jumper. see page 21 of the manual. I had trouble getting my onboard sound to work and this helped.
Good luck.

There isn't a jumper to disable it. The bios option I can't even remember, I just disabled it in windows anyways, since I forgot to disable it before installing windows.

you may be disabling the Onboard PC97 Audio Controler in the Onboard Peripheral Resource Control panel what you need too do is Disable the Onboard PCI Audio in the Chip Config section
