a7v133 question...

Hello all,

I am building a system for my friend.

Asus a7v133 MB Bios 1002a-1
AMD Tbird 1.2 200 FSB CPU
256 PC 133 Ram
ibm Deskstar 60 Gig HD
NIC Card on PCI slot 4
Hercules Geforce II MX Dual Display with TV Out 32 MB
Creative 52X Cdrom
Plextor 32x12x8 CDRW

I installed all the above and started to load Win 98

It appeared to install correctly. I fixed the PCI Mass Sotrage drive. I disabled the jumper for the onboard Sound. I also installed the correct drivers for the AGP Card. His ata 100 HD is detected and works fine.

here is my question. Everytime I try to move files from the cd-rom to the HD I get a windows error, "Explorer cause an error and will shut down" I then have to reboot. This keeps happened. I also get the error with the word "MSgedi(@@" or something like that and have to reboot. Any ideas?

I have built many systems before and this is just strange.

Should I flash to 1004 and see if it solves the problem?

hi Rcoops, I'm a newbie and don't know how to answer your question. I do however have a question for you. Can you please tell me how you fix the PCI mass stroage drive problem. Thank you.

Flash to BIOS 1004, and also install VIA 4-in-1's 4.29 Final. Hopefully that will solve your problems.
