Anybody else having this problem (or had)

One day I turned on my computer and all i got was a blank screen. Monitor light is yellow and cant even see the post. Pulled out everything except for cpu, ram and vid card and tried again. Nothing. Beeps with ram oot and same with cpu. Changed video cards (agp) and even tried a PCI. Switched monitors and now im out of ideas. the motherboard light is on and there seems to be power going to the board. I have three Ideas of what is going on
1) No power to agp and pci slots
2) CMOS
3) bad power supply

Please help im dead iin the water

I had the exact same problem, but it was after I managed to crush the core on my Duron. DOH! Good excuse to buy a T-bird. :p

I had a problem that sometimes did what you are describing. But sometimes when I booted it beeped continously. This was after I changed the memory settings in bios. I was under the impression if you set them wrong then it shoulda went back into bios, but all the dang thing did was beep or just sit there stupid looking. Wasn't until I swapped the memory module with a completely different one that it allowed me to get back into bios and change the settings. I dunno since you aren't getting anything. What was the last thing you did to your setup?

Maybe you can reset your CMOS on the mobo. I had mistakenly set the memory to pc133 instead of pc100 (which was the type of mem I had) and, after rebooting, it would not let me into bios much less post. I reset the CMOS which let me back into the bios. I don't think it would hurt to reset your CMOS and see if it works. I don't much about computers, but resetting the CMOS on my A7V worked for me. Hope this info helps.

Turns out my battery was dead and was shorting out the board. Seems to work now but all my windows applications like IE, and explorer seem to freeze every once and awhile. Just to be on the safe side im going to save, Format and re-install.

Thnks

I'm having an almost identical problem. However, mine is a little more extreme.

My system was working fine for about 3 months (not overclocked). Then one day, it just gives up the ghost. I hit the power switch and get a blank screen.

First, I disconnected everything non-essential, leaving only the CPU (900MHz T-bird), RAM (Crucial PC133 256MB CAS2), VGA (Creative GeForce 1), and keyboard. Still only a blank screen, or occasionally continuous beeping indicating bad memory.

So, I tried using a known-good memory chip (stolen from another -- working -- PC). Nothing. So I swap out the video card (same). Nothing. So I swap out the CPU with a brand-new 1GHz chip. Nothing. So I swap out the power supply. Nothing. So I swap out the motherboard (with another A7V). Still nothing.

This has me utterly baffled. I've literally built a whole new system, and I'm still having the same problem?!!

Finally, I bought a different motherboard (Aopen AK73Pro) and tried that. With my old CPU it reports a BIOS checksum error. With the new CPU, it works fine. I'm utterly baffled.

I can believe that I somehow managed to burn out my old CPU, and that it somehow affected my old MB. But if the CPU is dead, can it somehow damage a brand-new motherboard? And why didn't it affect the Aopen board in the same way?

I'm now stuck with two dead A7V's and one dead 900MHz T-bird. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix the situation or recoup my losses?
