A7V Core Voltage

PC Probe reports voltage at 1.79 using automatic settings. My T-Bird retail 750 runs between 43 and 46. Should I use the bios or jumpers to "set" it to the correct 1.7 or is PC Probe just reporting the wrong #?

As an aside, I have been able to OC to 900 using the pencil trick at 1.8V, but it gets as hot as 49-52 under heavy use. Would a better fan yield lower temps and would it be worth the $? (My NEC 133 ram, I think, is limiting me to 900.)

Regards, Kurt

The voltage is out of spec, which is what usually happens with the KT133 boards. Don't worry about it. Just make sure the temps are OK.

As for the temps, if you are doing some OCing, I'd advise that you get a good HSF. Like a Alpha PAL6035, GW FOP32/38, or the Taisol.

As for why you can't go higher, I would guess either the temp or the CPU is holding you back. RAM shouldnt be running out of spec if you are only adjusting the multiplier.
