I don't know if this notice comes with the motherboard or not, but if it doesn't, it might be worth knowing if you use Win98 or WinME:

ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/asus/mb/socka/nforce2/a7n8x/ie1086_a7n8x.pdf

In a nutshell, it says to make sure NOT to install the Serial ATA utility unless you do, in fact, have SATA drives.

**UPDATE: also potentially a gotcha for those intending to set up a multimonitor setup: at the end of the manual, it says the board cannot use PCI video cards "due to a limitation of the nVidia chipset."

The PCI video card warning was true of the nForce1 chipset as well. Also worth noting is that the sound drivers component can't be installed from the latest Unified Drivers onto this board.

So whats this PCI limitation thing? Not that I would care...the ol' R8500 is fully capable of dual display...does this only effect video or other PCI cards as well?

Strange. I'm currently running a Geforce2 MX AGP & a matrox millinnium g200 PCI card on an a7n8x. Completely stable with all 3 monitors up, enabling/disabling them, etc.
