A7N8X-E-Dx CPU temps.

My A7N8X-E-Dx with a Barton 2800 has always shown a higher CPU temp (50+*C) than my A7N8X-Dx with the same CPU. I switched to watercooling but the temp difference between the two mobo's stayed the same. I noticed when I use a Antec P160 sensor on the CPU waterblock the temp reads 39*C, but using ASUS probe or MBM5 it reads 52*C.

Has anyone else experienced high CPU temp readings on a A7N8X-E-Dx mobo; or know of any documented problems with the CPU temp sensor ??

Just use a regular thermometer. Software sensors dont work very well. My chipset is at 30C, room at 22C, but a thermo-probe that i downloaded said its at 75C. EDIT: Srry, there's tonnes of documented crap about this problem.

I should maybe specify... documented problems with the A7N8X-E-Dx CPU temp sensor.

I know there are people who don't think ANY sensor or diode under the CPU can be an accurate measurement; but it's about the only inexpensive way that mobo producers can get close to a temp. reading.
