OK, another question about this board... as discussed in other posts, I'm hoping (and have decided) to use the onboard sound and leave my TB Santa Cruz in my current system. Well, I just realized I might have a problem doing that. I'm using analog 5.1 Logitech Z640 speakers, which of course use 3 plugs: front, rear and center/sub speakers. I also will be putting my Leadtek capture card in this new system. Since that capture card has an audio cable go from itself into the line in on the sound card....I think there may be a problem. My question is about the audio connections on the A7N8X. It has:

Line in - connects an audio source, or, in 6 channel mode it functions as the bass/center connection
Line out - headphones or speaker, but functions as front speakers in 6 channel mode
Mic jack - microphone (duh), but functions as rear speaker jacks in 6 channel mode
Surround L/R audio jack - connects left/right speakers
Center/LFE jack - connects center or bass speakers

So, here's my question - how in the heck do I go about hooking both my speakers AND the capture card audio up? OK, I guess maybe I have two questions...why does this board have two left/right jacks (the line out and surround jacks) and two center/bass (line in and center/lfe) jacks? Could I just plug my speakers into the line in, surround l/r and mic jacks, and plug the capture card into the line out? Or do the front speakers have to connect to the line out jack? Help!! Please!!!

There should be 5 audio jacks on the back. I had an A7N8X Deluxe and Z-640s. Asus uses nonstandard colors on the jacks. You may have to play around with nvswap (look for it on NV's site) to get it to work.

He's still got a problem with the capture card Line In requirement though, if the Line In on his mainboard is necessary for the speakers.
I find myself swapping my capture card out for other line in uses, (mixing board) but my 2.1 speakers take up only the line out.
Good luck solving this.

5 jacks and 4 inputs, he just needs to find the right combination of what goes where. Capture card to line in, lime green to lime green, black to purple, and peach to the last non-pink one. This is assuming I'm remembering correctly and the -E has the same colored jacks as the regular Deluxe. You may have to go through the wizard in the SoundStorm control panel.
