If it ever did, I would. Raptors are running great, I use a PCI RAID Controller to help alleviate stress on the mobo. Prime stable at that, I normally run it at 2.6Ghz now, with 275FSB and Memory at 550Mhz CL3. Prime stable for days so far.

With an agp/pci lock where is the stress??? As long as it works I have no issues ever running onboard features whil ocing. I have even ran them with them disabled...I get no better of an OC, or stability issues...

If AMD didnt want us to overclock, they would of found a way top lock their chips at a certain level.

I think that's the dumbest statement is this thread so far...

this comment actually makes more sense than most of his other ones believe it or not

still yes, the dumbest statement in the thread

What is dumb about it is I have never seen a chip maker lock the fsb. They already top lock the multiplier, but I imagine that is more for stopping fraud by resellers. It is the mobo makers that give us the options...NOT AMD!!!!

hey guys i have the 3500 with neo2 and i cant change anything in the bios or my computer will blue screen when it hits windows.. dose anyone know why this could be happening??? and when i try and put my audigy 2 card in it blue screens too.. i have a 400 watt power supply. do u think this could be happening?

hey guys this is my first post and its a solid question.

how many of you guys are jumping on Teacher for RMAing a CPU, but at the same time software on your machine you didn't exactly pay for. music, movies, etc.

i don't wanna cause trouble, but that disturbs me that y'all jumped all over him.

Lets just ignore the topic poster, as hes a smuck. And get this thread bad on track, without him.

I just got my 3500+ Whinchester from ZZF this week, and got it going yesterday. After some very limited overclocking attemps, Ive got it up to 240FSB@1:1-2-2-2-5, 2640Mhz, at just 1.475vcore. At 1.4, I went up to 230FSB, 2540Mhz. Again at 1:1-2-2-2-5.

Pretty good so far? Im on a Asus K8N-SLI mobo, 2x512 Mushkin LvL2 PC3500, and X850XT/PE.

I havent tried to go higher today, I will try tomorrow. I do have one question, will I get better performance leaving it where I am at, or lowering the memory ratio, and raising the FSB? What about lowering the multi, and raising the FSB keeping the memory lax? I dont care about 3dmark, or anything like that. Which will give me better frames in games?

edit, here is a pic; http://home.comcast.net/~aquacomputer/V1000/2640.JPG

Also, what are those 11&16 clocks? Should I change them as well? 1T or 2T? Ive been on 2x512 HyperX PC4000 for almost two years now, so the low latency is new for me. I couldnt ever run it before.

Post pics of your keychain containing a fried processor?

thats really nice. find the max OC of all of your components, that will help. run your ram at 1T always (great preformance boost), and at timings no higher then 2.5-3-3-6. if you have to loosen them to get any more FSB, then set a devider and try to go higher. what is your sandra memory bandwidth? over 8000?

I am sitting at 2.5Ghz = 10 X 250 on my 3500+ winchester

I put the vcore at 1.5 but it likes to sit at 1.42 - 1.45

I havent run Sandra, Ill try that tomorrow, or over the weekend. Hopefully by then I will have my max stable OC figured out.

hey do you guys use Everest Home Edition??? if you do post your results! 😀 here are mine

Memory Read - 6344 MB/s
Memory Write - 2059 MB/s
Memory Latency - 45.6 ns

SiSoftware Sandra

CPU - 11074
Memory - 5478/5468

LOL Well my computer has been running 3 days now, and I also benchmarked with Internet Explorer open and here is my SiSoft Sandra Memory Scores....

Wow, LOL Kinda odd, ended up being exactly 5956/MBs on both Float and Int.

I would say 2.6 is 100% stable. Haven't had an issue in yet. Been playing CS Source all day now.

Shoot forgot one thing, I use a PCI RAID controller instead of onboard because two things, unloads just a tad off CPU from onboard, and also in overclocking it does make a difference. Atleast it used to, haven't done my tests lately but back in the IDE RAID days, with a Highpoint Rocket RAID 404 I was running would let me get my FSB about 10-15Mhz higher. This was before my board had PCI lock though. I just feel more secure bypassing the onboard. Personal preference I guess. Also, I was at work the other day and someone brought in a bunch of parts and had me assemble the computer for them, first time I saw this case, I actually had to mount the mobo upside down, and it had two 120mm fans in front and back with a plastic shroud to cover the cpu and ran to vent air across it. Pretty neat, all alluminum he said he only paid 70 bucks for it off like newegg or something. Anyone else seen these cases or any types like them? Kinda want to check them out maybe its time for me to ditch my Lian-Li.

Teacher how do you like the 2x raptors?? Are they in a Raid 0?? PM me and give me some of your thoughts on it....
