A64 Running Hot on VNF3-250

I have a Chaintech vnf3-250 with the September bios. My brother recently noticed that while playing halo the computer randomly restarted, and I figured that this might be because the motherboard detected the cpu went over 65 degrees celcius.

My questions is does anyone else with this mobo have the same problems? Is it messing up my temps?

Yes, it has problems with certain CPUs on that board; the DH7-CG revision in particular (check with cpu-z what you have). I also idle around 50 and it goes up into the sixties under load. This is with a Zalman 7000A-Cu heatsink/fan.

I am still not sure what to do about it, since it is a bit of a crapshoot when overclocking if you don't know the temperatures :/

No problems here using the latest bios. My cpu idles at 30c with stock HSF, and loads at 43c. Pretty sweet temps.🙂

I just prime95d, and my temp peaked at 52, but usually stayed around 48-49 with the inplace FFT.

Yep, I have the DH7-CG revision, so is it okay to remove the automatic shutoff at 65 degrees celcius and make it higher like maybe 70?

Yes its ok to turn it off,I have the same DH7-CG revision and I idle at 50 c and goes up to 65c under load,and the heatsink is not even warm. 😕

With the original bios i was idling 30c and after just a bios update temps are 20c higher than before.

So dont worry about the high temps if you got a DH7-CG revision chip,unless you start hitting 80c+ .😉
