CPU-Z =)

Another few questions.. Would the CPU burn in and be able to OC higher? And would updating the BIOS help at all? Also, I'm currently flipping over my Lian LI PC-73SL ( custom mod to make the motherboard flipped over.. ) and I'm waiting on the case to be finished to order a waterblock for my 3500+, would water help with OCing at all too? -- The temps of the CPU at 2.58Ghz when I would get errors were showing as ~61C in SpeedFan.. Not quite sure on how accurate those temps are as all MFG's differ.

read my thread. It's A64 3000+ Oc'd to 2.5Ghz . My Zalman 7000B CuAl keeps mine 31C Idle 41C Load. Prime95 and memtest86 stable.

Use the MSI Live update and flash in windows...flash to the non modded bios. I had issues when somone modded it.....

MSI website has 1.4 official on it..as I said I am using 1.36beta non modded..it is an MSI beta bios...
here is a site where I got my bioses..again..1.36=1.36 beta
1.36mod=someone non MSI tweaked the bios..I am bit skeptical of these now...but alot of people use them
http://www.lejabeach.com/MSIK8N/k8nneo2.html

everyone has differing opinions but I believe cpu burn is myth....

Why spend alot of money on watercooling..the thermalright XP90(which easily fits on this mobo) and the XP-120(which is a bit more diffucult b/c it puts pressure on a capacitor) with a Panoaflo fan or others works great...my idle temp in fl are 38-39C and load 50-52 C with Prime95 after 10hrs...system usually is around 35C...I only use 2 case fans..Panaflo L1A
my XP 90 is using a 92mm Vantec Stealth Fan which is 20db

I maybe wrong but I doubt watercooling will get you much more and some cases some kits are not as good as the XP90/120

check this website out

NP on the watercooling..I just did not want to see go spend $100-200 and get nothing..use it and I hope you get a better o/c...but flash up to newest offical bios

when MSI live update d/l a bios it saves it in Program file/setup files folder with bios name in that folder the 1.4 bios will be named
W7025NMS.140

the 1.36beta from that website is named W7025NMS.136...delete the xxx.140 from the setup file folder, place the xxx.136 in there and rename xxx.140 and flash with MSI lIve(turn off all other programs

you can also use Winflash 1.51 to do a winxp pro flash..alot people at extremesystems use it...it is easier

are you sure the bios was 1.0..that would be real old...the Mobo only has one revision but later seria lnumberboards...Ko410xxx/K10411XXX supposed have newer NB..but I have no idea if this is true

I got my A64 3000+ [socket 754] to 2.55 ghz on air, with stock voltage and cooling. The only time i encountered corruption was when i wasnt watching my HTT and it crawled up to 2ghz, so setting the the ldt to 3x fixed that.

Heres a thread from dfi-street that goes more indepth.

thank you. Im running at 277 HTT X 9 with HT multiplier X3. 277 X 3 = 831 x 2= 1662 Mhz. Im in the okay zone. Is Ht mulitplier the same as LDT?

are you sure calcuations are correct for a winchester.....

I am running
10x255 4xhtt

I dont think that can be taking winchesters into account.....They run at 1000 or 2000 effectively.....The newcastles run at 800 or 1600 effectively....

Stay between 800-1000 (1600-2000) and you should be fine with almost identical performance....Above 1000 may be an issue with certain boards and not others. Though I dont think my systems booted at 289x4....

thats what I figured Duvie..thanks for the confirmation

Duvie..do you find a performance improvement at 330 fsb vs the 260 or 270 you were running before..

Also..looks like you are getting serious with the PSU...I love my OCZ 520W Powerstream...but Duvie I have heard there maybe some issues with the 600W unit ..check the OCZ forum at Extremesystems...they may be worked out now...OCZ does seem to have very good CS

Well last night I flashed with the MSI 1.4 BIOS and Yeah, the version before the flash was v1.0 and I'm not really up to date on how good SuperPi scores are, I got this just now.

SuperPi @ 2550

Another thing I wanted to ask was how accurate are the CPU temps? MBM5 is showing 30C idle and so is SpeedFan. The case temp is ~27-28C though so I don't know how that could be. Heatsink is Zalman CNPS7000Cu w/ AS5.
