A64 noob

this is my first a64 cpu, came from an athlon XP

i've read several articles about ocing a64s and somewhat understand how an a64 works

got the 3000 venice since many people say that it is an ocing beast
i cant even oc a little bit, comp wont post
help please!!!
would like to get it at least to 2.7

3000+ venice (LBBLE 0521)
MSI K8N NEO2 platinum (bios 1.9)
corsair 2x512 3200XL ver 1.2
antec truepower 480

hehe i know it is but thats what most people hit here with 3000 venices
im gonna lower my optimism to 2.4

actually a very very small percentage hit 2.7 ... especially with new chips in fact i haven't heard a single person with a chip that was purchased recently hit 2.7 on air

ok got it to boot windows at 2610, htt 290, as some people said that the lower sata ports werent locked tried the locked ones and got it to 2.6

can someone explain me how do the locked and unlocked ports work?
