A64 and Socket 754 question.

I've had a chaintech VNF3-250 and a A64 3000+ with 2x 512MB sticks of RAM for awhile now. I would like to add another GB of RAM. Seeing as socket 754 doesn't support dual channel there wouldn't be any point in replacing the 2x 512 sticks with 2x 1GB sticks over adding just one 1GB stick? Would it affect anything performance wise?

No performance difference, as long as that board doesn't have any limitations like not being able to run the memory at full speed if all 3 slots are populated, or problems with single-sided/double-sided modules. The manual should specify any of that in the memory install section.
