A64 4000+

It is an fx-53. Only difference is FX-53 is unlocked both up and down, while the 4000+ is only unlocked down, like all A64's.

Unlocked up and down means that you can change the money from the default 12 up to 13, 14, 15, etc or down to 11, 10, 9, etc. Down means it can just be changed from 12 to 11, 10, 9, etc.

The 4000+ uses strained silcon like the FX chips. 3800+ and less use the regular stuff. And yes, its locked.

the 4000+ uses SS, but it's also a 130nm chip, so it OCs lower than its slower 90nm brothers (3000+, 3200+, 3500+), so if you're into OCing, buy a 3200+ and some sweet memory instead of a 4000+, and you'll get much better results (maybe close to 2.7GHz if you're lucky!).

wher'ed you hear that from?

why don't you tell my 130nm clawhammer that it runs slower than its 90nm brother

the 130's o/c decently well especially these 3500+ clawhammers

either way, overclocking is mostly luck (i.e. what chip you get and how high it'll go)
