1st thing, if you want single core, just get a 3000 and overclock it. a 3500 is a waste of money. next, if you need dual core, get dual core. imo, it might be kinda nice to be able to do a couple things at once and not have your computer completely unresponsive. it really depends on what you are using the computer for. if you game, it may not be a good idea to sacrifice cash on the video card just so you can afford the x2 3800
