A64 3400+ Temps w/ stock cooler

I just put together a system for a friend, right now it's here for 24 hours to iron out the bugs. Temp at full load is 56-61C. It's using the stock coooler, and the Case is a Thermaltake Shark. It seems to me like something is a bit wrong here-the temp seems too high. ANy suggestions? There is a 120mm intake and 120mm exhaust with a 120mm above the cpu on the power supply. There is a raptor and a seagate drive installed, and the psu is a OCZ Modstream, so the cabling isnt too bad.

try:
1. reseating the HSF
2. getting more case fans, or rearrange them for better airflow.
3. geting some AS5, good stuff

those load temps are pretty high; i get 50C load with my stock hsf and as5 and im overclocked to 2.655GHz 1.53v. what mobo is he using? it might just be giving you high temp readings.
hth,
Nick

you shouldnt need one; stock performs damn good. like i said im overclocked quite a lot (800MHz oc) and i get load temps of 50C. re-seat the HSF with better paste, and your temps will go down.

The temp is fine. IIRC, the 3400+ is only available as either a 130nm Clawhammer or a Newcastle which run warmer than the 90nm Winchester cores.
