My idle temps are reading 40 C in Motherboard monitor with my A64 3000+. Anyone else have temps on their A64's in a similar range, or is that high?

What is your case temp ? Mine is 29c, I idle at 32c and high at full load at 42c.

BUT Case temp is what drives it all !!! So please, what is your case temp? and what cooler do you have ? I have a Thermaltake Silent Boost K8, 21 dba. If your case temp was 35c on a retail cooler, I could see that as normal.....

my case temps are 31C & CPU temp 45C @ load, my comp is in a fairly warm, small enviroment, and i need to get some real case fans... but everything runs fine, and isnt the max suggested by amd around 60C?

edit: i also have stock HSF w/ stock thermal paste.. mainly for warranty, i probably will keep these over a year

Mine idles about 1 or 2 degrees over ambient (right now its 25 - 27C most of the time cuz my room is about 64 degrees F) and load temps get up to 32 C. I have a TT Venus 12 with 80mm fan (pot is turned way down, fan is really loud otherwise). I have the AMD Cool n Quiet Driver installed but I don't know how to check if its working or not. This is all according to Asus Probe which is notoriously inaccurate btw.

My case temps are reading like 34/35. I have a stock HS/Fan setup. I guess it's good temp for that, just wanted to check with others. Thinking about the Zalman 7000Cu or whatever it is.

I called that one didn't I ?? The thing is, NO cooler will bring down your temps much, you need to cool the case down if you want lower temps.

But even 50c under full load is absolutely NO problem. They do actually run much cooler than the Athlon XP's !

Mine is psychotic. I use the default cooler, and idle temps run around 35-40 C. Load is 48-50.

My Silent Boost has a funky vibration. I can feel it touching the case. It does have a quiet cool though.
