I'm kinda new to agp lock and how the new processors work. I was pretty knowledgable about the XP series but this is all kinda new to me. I tried bumping to 2.35 (yes my ram can handle it, 1gb pc4000 OCZ) which was 235 fsb.. wouldnt go past windows screen. Tried 2.3 and it worked. Now i know i can get more than that out of my chip so im just wondering how?

Are there multipliers? What do i do with the AGP bus?
Thanks!

btw, i wrote down all the numbers on my CPU to find the stepping.. which one is it? =\

the problem is is that the board you are using does not have pci lock so that means your pci cards are going mad out of frequency...

that may be your cause

also, did you increase your voltage?

The K8n Neo platinum does have agp and pci lock. in your bios under cell menu you must put the agp frequency at 67 this will lock both the agp and pci bus. Iknow it sounds weird but check your manual. Some other helpful hints i have found while working with the board to achieve your max OC lower the HT link to 3 from the default of 4. My computer wouldnt boot over 235 unless il lowered this. Also do not use SATA ports 1 or 2 only use 3 0r 4 this seems to be a normal problem in the msi forums mine wouldnt boot over 240 with it ion port 1. I currenyly have my A64 2800+ @ 2434mhz with a 270 fsb(htt) at 1.65v so you should prbably be able to get at least 2.5ghz

ty blue, that was helpful.. but im still getting prime95 errors. I set my agp to 67, and my HT to 3... then fsb to 230 at 1:1 ratio and it wont run prime95 =\.

I think i may be downloading the codec wrong.. i'll try gaming for a few hours :D

my bad... for some reason i thought you had an asus k8v hehehe...

but yes... putting the agp to 67 should lock it..

so you're trying to run 2300 mhz is this correct?

how are your temperatures?

i just tried running 2250 mhz and it wouldnt even run... im having trouble with the ram i think. I increased timing to 3-4-7-4 and it still wont run games but for 10 min or so then boots me to desktop, or gives me errors.

if you dont have the latest bios update it. Try putting the ram in slots 1 and 3, if that doesnt work try lowering the ram to 166. Maybe even try running it with just one stick of ram to see if it makes a difference. My last nforce3 mobo didnt like it when i used dual geil pc4000 ram. Also if you have mbm5 or the msi core center check the vcore mine undervolts to 1.45.

i set my ratio to 333 ram.

right now 240 fsb (200 on my ram). Runs fine, so my ram is bad and cant run the way its supposed to, or im doing something wrong. Suggestion for ram?

heres what i have

I actually have them in slots 1 and 2 because i was reading the manual and it liked 1/2 for ddr400 dual side. True or is the book wrong?
