A64 1T unstable?

My A64 3500+ setup crashed many times yesterday. After much fiddling, found out that lowering command rate to 2T made my PC stable. The PC was very stable with 1T until yesterday.

I'm using two non-identical sticks of Kingston 512MB DDR400 CL2.5 in dual channel mode on a Asrock Dualsata2 mobo. I am going to RMA my 3500+ since I believe it is the culprit but any comments from you guys will be helpful.

Run memtest86 on each stick of memory 1 at a time at 1T command rate. If they both pass, install them together at 1T and run memtest again. It's most likely a memory issue and not a CPU issue.

Both sticks pass memtest at 1T in SC mode. 1T, DC mode will surely fail.

Up the memory voltage a notch and/or up you RAS to CAS and RAS precharge. I doubt its the CPU.

I use the same motherboard. You cannot run with 1T on this motherboard, unless it's DDR266 or below.

Running 1T above that will cause crashes only with certain applications, which could be why you've only recently noticed it.
