A05 owner please help

i have this drive and everytime i try to burn AYTHING with nero, it fails after a few percent. i have even used memorex and TDK DVD-r's and got the same results. what should i do here? is there any other programs i can use? thanx

I was having trouble for a while. I was making a coaster about every 3rd disc. To fix it I reformated and everything has been fine since even using cheap discs.

Have you tried the Latest Firmware?

Use RecordNow MAX. Upgrade to the latest Pioneer firmware, or even better upgrade to a hacked firmware that will allow you to burn all discs at 2x or 4x, as well as rip at 12x. Firmware-flash.com forums

When is the last time you defragmented your drive? I see a lot of people make coasters (granted it's with CD-Rs) because their drives are SUPER fragmented and they get super slow read speeds.

i never defrag my HDD, i did the firmware upgrade but do i have to do it again every time i reformat?

What speed are you burning the discs at? I also noticed that you're OC'ing pretty heavily. Is your PCI bus locked at 33 Mhz?

Nope. Think of it as like upgrading the BIOS of the DVD drive. It stays with it past reformats.
