Wasnt sure where to put this... Hoped in the highly technical there would be people that browse that are A+ certified. How did you go about getting certified, school, book, internet or through employment. What were the best methods for you to pass the test and what didnt work. Im looking for the best book to study to pass the test at the moment. Im thinking the A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide 5th Edition by Michael Meyers but i get mixed reviews on it. I read that the 4th edition is great but doesnt cover XP enough. Your thoughts please. Thanks.

raouuul, your thread should get a lot of helpful responses in Off Topic, as there have been numerous threads on A+ there in the past. I'm not trying to be negative at all, I just know from experience that OT members have been helpful to me when I had A+ questions, I hope this helps a bit 🙂

The Examprep books are always good. LAst one I used (Network+) had tests at the end of each chapter with the answers not at the end of the book, but on PDFs on the CD so it was a little more difficult to cheat 😛

Also included on the CD were 2 or 3 practice tests. Worked for me. Good Luck!

My advice: get out of the computer industry... has a bleak and morbid future... and employees will continue to be marginalized.

Thanks guys. You know I thought I searched for A+ certification in the forums zim but I didnt get any results. Bleeb...Mr. Diamond Member and yer unhelpful post, pssh, i mean ill like bleebn bleeb you in the bleebn head for your bleebn sarcastic comments....dog.

I should have asked earlier if this is a difficult task to accomplish, being certified, its for a parttime job and what im working towards and have been for five years is a career in videogames. Its just i spent so much time with computers and have built them that this seemed like fun till i get there. i think im thinkin its easier than it is. or im not thinkin at all, but is it really hard getting certified?. Thanks.

Yeah, sounds like good advice.

Simply not true. If your organization is dependent on you then you can wield the power... The issue is finding such a gig.
