I bought this thing over a year ago. I've started building it with a girl from work, then continued with my girlfriend. Then a friend of mine and her boyfriend borrowed it - nobody was able to get past the few pieces. So finally, about a month ago I took it upon myself to finish this puzzle. I've spent about 4-5 hours a week and hopefully if I get some free time this weekend I should be done by monday. Gotta tell though, this thing is a lot of fun.

This is what the final result will look like

It is. The hard part isn't finding the right pieces, but putting the 2d panes together. If you look closely you'll notice that the ediges aren't jagged but rather square so you don't know if you're putting things in the right place. Plus, the round part kept bending and falling out of place.

Interesting...I might pick one up this weekend :) Something out of the ordinary to do

I still have a 3d millenium falcon puzzle that I've never started. Makes me want to keep it in the closet.

I did the empire state building one summer. It was pretty rough.

Since all the sides of the building look nearly indentical, they put gradients in the reflections of the windows to help you out... but it didn't help too much.

Once I had all the sides built, I kept trying to put them together, but the thing kept flopping over, so I kicked it across the room. :(

Oh well, I managed to get the long part done :)

Update: Almost done with this thing. I guess rainy weather is good for something :) I'll post pictures of end result as soon as I'm done.

Back in 7th grade, I stupidly agreed to build the Notre Dame Cathedral Puzz 3d for our little junior high world fair. Man it was the worst 4 weeks of my life. I had to miss school to complete it, and even have my brother and sister help.
