is there such a phone that is 100% white even when the phone's display is off?

for phones, tv, anything with a color display, why is it black when power is cut off? can it ever be any other color?

anything verizon could be considered a white phone, metropcs makes black phones, hope that helps

And a white phone? Why would you want something the color of semen? It's as bad as Apple shit.

I don't think a screen could be anything but black while being turned off.

The way I understand LCDs to work:
The RGB light of each pixel is always on. There is a sheet of RGB squares lit from behind by the backlight in the screen. Each pixels has 3 shutters, one for each color. To get black, you close all three shutters.

If you were to want the screen to be white when turned off, I think you'd be incapable of displaying black since the shutters would have to be white.

thanks for the tech info!
and for those who thinks the idea is dumb...well, its not. if your wall is green, the tv's screen would be green when off. the tv would be flushed and barely noticeable and not intrusive in the living room. if you've ever been in the Comcast building, you would know what im talking about. but off course comcast's screen are always on to achieve this flushed look

I repaired a Samsung Galaxy Blaze the other day and was surprised to find that the LCD was silver on the inside. Under the display glass and touch digitizer, it looked black.

So you don't want it to be white, you want it to be clear. Make up your mind.
