I came up with this idea awhile back but just now have had some help to put it up for people to see...

To make this work simply make all your case fans intake air (except for the PS fan) that will make for positive pressure in the case but will keep a constant flow of cool air coming into the HS/fan... I was going to put the blow hole in the top of the case (may still do that...) but did not want to take the unit apart... (I dont go into my case that often anyhow but have a large supply of cable ties...) Also this ductwork can be found at electrical supply houses... This setup was good for 7-9 degrees less heat on the cpu at max load... Also the case internal temp stays very cool...

The ducting is slipped over the body of the fan and clamped to the body via a 12" cable tie...

I tried this using a right angle bend in some of that aluminum tubing and exiting out the back fan hole. It's too tight a squeeze on the KT7 and it runs cooler without ducting but I'm glad you got yours to work.

How's the sound level? Also, if you reverse fan flow to blow/suck do you get substantial temp changes? Are you running two small fans there?

Im also glad my cats don't look that evil.

First off only took about 45min to cut the hole and drill for the screws to mount the side panel fan & attach the ductwork and clamp it down on both ends (fans) also connect the fan header to the board... Of course I had to reverse my rear mounted fan and add a filter on it... Total time was about 1 1/2 hour

As for the sound level not bad considering I`m useing only 60mm fans... The one on the Alpha is a Delta but is only a 6K rpm fan the outer is a YStech @5K rpm... The flow coming out the side hole also circulates air to my monitor which also helps cool it too... Just an added benfit... ;)

Jumblies I almost forgot it helped reduce my cpu temps by 7-9 degrees F. full load temp is now only 116F was up to 124F. It comes off standby with cpu temps in the 86-88 degree range.

BTW thanks to all that have replied and liked this little idea... Oh and Diamond the cat... :)

That's a pretty sexy kitty you got there.. how much you want for her? ;)
um.. what about the other sources of heat in your case? Like the vid card, power supply, hard drive... chipset..??? I mean, the solution looks great as far as your cpu is concerned, but what are your board temps this way? You have any other fans blowing in or out of the case?
