here's the scoop. we finally heard from some of the people that were there. it will probably hit New Jersey area news in the next couple of days.
the kids were swimming, the rip tides started to come in, so Brian (good bball player but not a very good swimmer) went in after the kids. he was able to keep them afloat untill some other people on the shore were able to get them to shore w/ rope and floatation device.
he was the last one in the water. they were pulling him in when another riptide started and took him under. by the time they got him to shore it was too late. they tried cpr on him for 45 minutes to no avail.
He was in the TRUEST sense of the word a HERO.
