Heyo I got a Zyxel XGS1210-12 from a friend. Does anyone know a cheapish compatible transceiver that would work?

Have you checked Amazon? The answer you seek may be in the in the question section for the switch.

OP has this switch https://www.zyxel.com/us/en/product...h-2-Port-2-5G-and-2-Port-10G-SFP--XGS1210-12/ and he wants to connect the 10G SPF+ port to with 10G-BaseT RJ45 port or adapter.

So he will need a 10G SFP+ to RJ45 transceiver.

Recommended by the users who respond below Amazon's product page https://www.amazon.com/12-Port-Gigabit-Managed-Multi-Gig-XGS1210-12/dp/B084MH9P8Q

1. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QWW79SH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XQBFHN...abc_SPSK8TNGJSFQGRK8T0YY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Yep, these transceivers are expensive.

The other problem is, there are brand compatibility issues between SFP+ NIC (in this case, his Zyxel 10G SFP+ port) and transceivers.

OP better ask / consult with Zyxel what products they recommend.

This looks like it is a Wiitek SFP-10G-T that is designed to be compatible with the Zyxel switches (just rebranded and given the proper encoding for compatibility):

The Wiitek is pretty much still the best performing transceiver:

I can't be 100% positive that it is a rebranded Wiitek, but given OEM part numbers, specs, and price, it certainly looks like it.
