SAPPHIRE 100143L Radeon X1300PRO 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16
or
SAPPHIRE ULTIMATE RADEON 9800 PRO Radeon 9800PRO 256MB 256bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X

Maybe it's silly but I'm not sure about the perfomance boost I'll get by going to a PCIE 16x
over the AGP

AGP card has 256bit GDDR2

while the PCIE has 128bit GDDR2

I'm almost thing they make break even. Any suggestions?

Firstly, what does your motherboard support? AGP or PCIe?

Secondly, a 9800pro regardless of AGP/PCIe is faster than the X1300pro.

I've never seen a comparision between those two cards, but my guess is that the 9800 Pro will outperform the X1300 & I'm certain it has nothing to do with PCIe being faster then AGP.
I was able to find a couple comparisions between the X700 which performs on par with a 9800 Pro & the X1300 Pro & just as I thought the X700 is a slightly better performer overall...in order to outperform the 9800 by a significant amount you have to jump to an X1600 Pro or better yet a 7600GT.

9800pro has 8 pixel pipelines with more ROPs and TMUs compared to the X1300pro. It also has a bigger memory interface meaning enabling AA at high res will perform better on the 9800pro. Also since the 9800pro supports AAA, its IQ are just as equal since enabling HQ AF on X1300pro is not realistic.

All in all, 9800pro ftw.
