Actually, you didn't have to have gay sex to catch AIDS, it just was the most publicized cause. Having sex with someone who had gay sex would do it...or with someone who had sex with someone who had gay sex....so on and so on...OR, have had sex with an IV drug user who had shared needles with someone who had it...or had sex with someone who had sex with someone who was an IV drug user who had shared needles.........................
Yes I am aware of all that, no need to spell it all out to make my point how HIV differs from COVID

That is still all risky behavior, not going to the grocery store for food, or going to work to pay bills.

Covid is a weird virus. I've seen some unhealthy, one foot in the grave type, old, etc survive this thing with nothing more than cold/ flu like symptoms.
Heard of a few dead too.
plenty we dont know yet... blood type plays a role for one *shrugs*

We need to collect their DNA. They have some good genes. Also means they made it through a lot of other diseases we don't have to fight off nowadays and high rates of infant mortality.

yes, yes, their precious bodily fluids are ours!

At the time, HIV was a death sentence. If you have no other morbidity's, covid isn't serious at all.
Hmm that's not true at all and its a stupid ill thought out thing to say.

You're less likely to die if you have no major comorbidities but a lot of people who have no comorbidities have still died. Over 1000 people <30 have died since this thing started in Feb and almost 8000 people between 30-40 have died. Most of these people will not have had any comorbidities. There are lots of reports of EMS workers for example (who are exceptionally young and fit in general) dying. Heck one of the earliest stories highlighting the lethality of the virus was a young chinese doctor dying in wuhan at like 32 years of age.

That's only looking at death. That's not looking at hospitalizations in the ICUs (which are ridiculously expensive to society) and long term problems from COVID (liver problems, kidney problems, lung scarring, heart failure, etc) which are magnitudes larger than the death rate. Caring about just the death rate is a really really dumb way to approach health crises. If death alone is the only thing that matters in a public health crisis, why was zika even a concern (other than it would destroy the brain of your baby, but not kill it)?
