A thought just occured to me (yippee!)

you know, a birth certificate is sort of weird. like, if you didn't know what it was, and you saw one, it would be weird, because its a proof that someone was indeed born.

"I was born! I'll prove it!"

Apart from that, though, have you ever stopped to look at a word and suddenly realize that its sort of weird? Like the word "you". Looks perfectly normal, but every so often when I look at it, it just looks like a weird arrangement of consonant/vowel sounds.

Nah, its more like

Government: We should do something about these foreigners now that we are a country.
Government: I know, we will make things you can't have/do without being born here
Government: so we need some way to identify people born here....
Government: I got it, lets make a piece of paper, that can (austin powers quotes " " ) CERTIFY that someone was born here
Government: We'll call it a " " Birth certificate.
Government: GREAT, now lets tax someone.
