I still think republicans will still keep Obama care because that is how stupid republicans and democrats have been as of late.
The House has voted about 56 times now to repeal the ACA. Not that it has a chance of passing the Senate, or getting past a veto.

Not to mention, who cares what Gruber says?

Gruber helped Rmoney enact Rmoneycare in MA.

Gruber was a paid advisor to the Obama administration because of his past experience working under the Republican governor of MA who was also the Republican candidate for President in 2012.

So. What.

This seems like a WTF moment until one really thinks about it. The lefties aren't trying to get government into every facet of your life because they feel you are smart and capable.

Yeah, that is totally my game plan just like your game plan is taking money out of your wallet and giving it to the Koch brothers.

It's much more difficult to repeal a law then it is to stop it from being enacted. Once the law is in place, you create lots of special interests, including the employees of the new bureaucracy and those that are getting the benefits, and people are much more vocal about things that will affect them. For example, an effort to raise the drinking age to 25 would see more active opposition from people aged 21-24 than a law to lower the drinking age would receive support from those same people.

That's why the Democrats were so insistent on getting the law passed, because they knew once the framework is in place, at worst, it would be reformed.

No company can afford to pass along its taxes to the consumer because some other company will come along and undercut the price by taking a lower profit and gain a greater share of the market. I was able to prove this yesterday when I went to buy batteries. I found the two major brands to be the same incredibly high price. There is only price fixing, there's no competition. Nationalize battery production. Fix the profit at 20% and create financial rewards for universities that come up with the cheapest most efficient new battery designs.

How could someone well versed in public policy not believe Americans are stupid? A stupid simpleton like Sarah Palin deduces a highly complex public health bill down to a single phrase, ie "death panels", and half the nation goes berserk. One of the biggest pieces of legislation in a generation has been in effect for years and people are still completely ignorant about it.

American voters ARE stupid, they are just too stupid to realize it.

Millions of Americans don't know who the vice president is, so naturally I wouldn't expect most of them to understand health care or economic policy.

Why is this even news? Does anyone really think that those in DC don't view the average voter as a useful (for votes and taxes) lemming? It'd be far more shocking to find video/audio of someone in DC who genuinely doesn't think that way...

The complaint isn't the accusation that voters are apathetic and uninformed. Everyone knows that is a real issue. The problem is that instead of trying their best to inform and educate voters, they instead use all of their energy to exploit voter ignorance for their own personal gain and political power.

And yet, all of them infinitely more astute and intelligent than yourself.

The idea is to fight against an informed citizenry.

But when Obama insists that your cell phone calls can be intercepted without a warrant, why would he want you to know much?

They are stupid. They keep voting for the same fucking congressmen over and over again and then whine about how everything sucks.
