A T-Shirt Joke for all us liberals...

My response from the other thread:
It's not enough to vote for the lesser of two evils.

In our 2004 national election the Conservatives were getting looked at but all they had to say is a bunch of negative accusations for the governing liberals. In the most recent election they had a full platform with great ideas, and completely dominated the discussion and campaign. The democrats need to have a policy convention; come to consensus (Conservatives here voted to fully support a woman's right to choose) and create new ideas and a vision for the nation.

Up until now the democrat vote seems to come from anti-republican sentiment. Time for the democrats to give the average person a reason to vote for them; taxing the rich and creating social programs are neither visions nor solutions. The average American is not anti-christian, pro-big government; the democrats need to understand this concept when marketing themselves.

A right leaning Democrat would do very well this day in age; someone with the track record of financial discipline. A new englander is out of the question; the democrats need to get someone who understands all areas of the nation; not just the elitist north east. A man like Evan Bayh would be the Republican's worst nightmare. He's a fiscal conservative (balanced the books and gave tax cuts), is very popular in the republican friendly state of indiana, and has that clean cut youthful and presidential look the democrats need (ref. Bush, Clinton).

Leadership, Policy, Marketing. These are what the democrats NEED to change. I'm afraid they are too stuck in their ways to change before 2008; we can only hope.
Thanks for proving my point 🙂...liberals will never change.

One of the more recent threads was trying to understand why the democrats haven't been as successful as republicans. The quote is my suggestion; blaming/taxing/hating the rich is not a vision nor a solution to any problem.

This thread is proof of this mindset.

Omg don't you have BBC there? *slaps forehead*

No wonder you turned out to be such a swarmy little prat 😉

Nah, i'm a "swarmy little prat" because I grew up in a very well off family, always top marks in my classes, went to a snobby university, and now make lots of money in a fairly prestigeous position.

Lets get that perfectly straight! 🙂

But yes I do watch BBC; but only for news. Funny thing though, i really don't like the traditional right wing media outlets. I like CBC, BBC, Reuters, Toronto Star and the Economist for my news.

Well you missed out on a awesome piece of BBC history.

YOu ever get a chance, watch the "Bambi" episode, its all about the "scumbag college squatters vs. the snob university in a game show.

The hippie pees on Lord Snot's head, and the punk ends it with a potato masher grenade. (or was it a petrol bomb?) 😉

There is even a episode where they are all watching BBC and complain about reactionary newscasts endlessly reporting mideast terrorists and how old they are getting trying to whip brits into a frenzy of fear.

(this is mid 80s mind you) I didnt get that part when I was a kid, but funny how I understand it perfectly these days.

If it comes down to "Eating the Rich" just be sure you sell their transplantable organs. They're bringing pretty good money I hear.
