A strange Problem

I recently built a P35 PC using the Intel Pentium E6300 wolfdale model. This cpu is listed at 2.8 but strangely enough mine only runs at 2.6, I can Overclock it to 2.8, but it should be running at 2.8 by default. Besides this issue the things run perfectly. The MB is a P35-DS3L Gigabyte, The memory is G-Skill 4gig kit from newegg

Is there any thing i check to make it run at 2.8? Thanks

Wow im absolutely retarded, i was thinking of the old e6300 that ran on a 200 fsb

Anyways the new e6300 uses a 266 fsb, which needs a 10.5 multiplier to reach 2.8ghz, my guess is ur mobo is having issues with the .5 multi

Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6300 2.80GHz 2MB Wolfdale 45nm R0 65W 1066 F9

Thats off Gigabytes supported processor list, most notable is the F9 which means its only supported with a F9 bios, so my instinct is to flash ur bios

I've always been really iffy with flashing BIOS, I think my version is a F4, as long as there is a logical reason i probably wont pursue it much further. Thanks for the Help. I should have looked over the gigabyte web site a little more. Thanks again.
