It would be interesting to subtly incorporate some religious ideas...maybe it could be metaphorically related to the father the son, the holy ghost, and mary. That would add some depth to it I guess.

A vampire attacked its biological father that had long ago abandoned it, and the mom vampire was overwhelmed because she was on a low-blood diet and didn't want to see the son vampire be like the dad vampire yet still hated the former dad vampire
