This phone is now 10 months old and has had some great development happen including a mature CM7 and an alpha MIUI that is stable and almost fully functional (my daily for the last 3 days) as well as a bunch of roms based on blur that retain webtop function. There are good overclock kernels, and I would venture most phones can handle 1.3ghz with little or no impact on battery life. Combine that with a solid 4" qHd screen that despite all the pentile hate you read, is really a beautiful screen.

You can get them for free refurbished at att or they are usually between $150 and 200 on ebay or craigslist.

I have mine running CM7 and the battery life is the best I've seen on Android.

I liked the phone enough just stock. Used it a few months after having the iPhone 4 to see if Android would be a better choice for what I'm looking for. It was able to prove that, and now I have a Galaxy S 2. Not sure if I want to dump my Atrix or keep it around as a spare in case something happens to the main phone.

all of the smartphones today are pretty powerful already.
i wish all of them have docks like the Atrix already! the concept is brilliant. dock the phone to a tv, and boom you now have a 60inch nettop. dock to a laptop and now u have a netbook.

Yeah as expensive as high end phones are I'd like them to pull double duty as a laptop once in a while. Also saves me from having to buy a tablet.

how about the Atrix 2?

Do you guys recommend that?

Apparently a nice phone, but small user base and a locked bootloader equals a potential dead end for any development so if you want to do anything other than stock moto look elsewhere. Xda forums have an atrix 2 forum, That's a good place to start.

I chose the Infuse over the Atrix... because of the screen, and haven't regretted it one bit.

I thought the bootloader was locked on the Atrix - I didn't know CM7 was even possible on that phone.

Bootloader has been unlocked for months, it was a long and painful wait but a distant memory now. As far as the atrix being difficult to root and unlock, that is also a thing of the past. This is why I started this thread, people ought to know its a killer little phone. :-o
