About 5 weeks ago my wife was leaving work. She works in Downtown Akron, Ohio and is a Banker. She was leaving the parking garage at the end of the day and of course so wher alot of other people. Towards the bottom of the parking garage, the last ramp before the exit curves around. A New Dodge Ram in front of her doesnt cut the turn right and scrapes the front corner of the truck up against the wall. He proceeds to Backup, My wife cannot move bescause there are cars behind her. She lays on her horn, but he still backs right up into her car.

The Truck decides to just leave, but luckily the attendendant at the bottom of the ramp at the exit saw everything and doesnt let the Guy leave. So he pulls over at the side of the garage.

My wife pulls over next to him. during this whole incident she was on the phone with her boss. He tells her, "Stay calm, Your fine, Just get his insurence information and youll be fine"

She gets out and asks the other driver for his insurence info and name and such. He starts yelling at her and says "lets handle this personally". My wife calls me and tells me what happens and asks me what to do. I tell her " get his name address and insurence information and if the damage is minimal we can work something out but we still need his insurence info." She tells him this while im still on the phone. The next thing I hear is screaming from him saying "No, Lets handle this personally." He refuses to give her any info but his name and address.

Luckily My Wife's boss and two of her other Male co-workers were going over to leave work and check to make sure my wife was ok. They heard the man screaming at my wife, came over to lend assistance. My wife's boss tells him "Fine We just called the Cops" The Man gets visably nervous and starts smoking like a fiend.

half hour later cop shows up, Wife gives him a statement. Cop checks the Car. Man argues their is no damage. Cop points out fresh damage. The Cop them fills out a police report. The Man is still argumentative with the cop.

The Cop gives my wife a copy of the police statement. Looks it over, and notices that the address the man gave her is different than the one on the police report. Cop says " Oh its fine that is the address on his licence." Cop tells her it is an enterprize rental car and he bought the insurence through enterprize.

They Leave.

Oh and not to be a racist, But the Man was a middle ages Arab Gentleman.

Problems getting enterprize to call us back force us to file a claim with our insurence to get the car repaired. $1624 to get the front end repaired becasue the grill was shoved under the hood. Any way car is fixed and my wife is still contacting our insurence company to see the status of the claim and see if we are going to get our deductable back.

Today she was told this revalation by the insurence company

His drivers licence is invalid
The licences plates are invalid
Enerprize sold the car in a blind auction sale 7 months ago.
They sent Certified letter to both address they had for the Man, Both were returned.

So lets get this straight.

An middle aged arab, gets in to a car wreck in a parking garage where he is at fault, tries to leave the scene, Gets nervous when he is told the cops are coming(My wife told the officer these two things), has a invalid drivers licence, and invalid plates.

oh and the parking garage is across the street form the FEDERAL BUILDING

Great Ground Level Police work Chief Wigum. My Wife willbe calling the FBI today.

Not trying to be a racist, but Come on. All the signs of something shady are there.

Maybe, certainly worth investigating. Then again he may just be a shady guy with fake ID/plates/etc. That would certainly make someone nervous around Cops. Kinda creepy though, given it's where a loved one works and all. I'd be worried.

Why wouldn't the cop spot the fake license when he was doing his accident report?

....
.........

They check plates and license information do they not

Laziness

No citation was given because it was on personal property.

Just a police report

The Cop told my wife it was an enterprise rental car. If he even ran the plates he would have known this not to be true.

He just took the guys word for it.

I live just outside of Akron. And I would say that this is typical of the of the Akron Police Dept.; do as little as possible. Now if this had happened in Cuyahoga Falls, or Boson Heights, he would have been examined to the Nth degree to see how many tickets they could issue.

I don't see anything that makes me think this guy's anything other than a typical grade-A asshole, you just seem to be a bit paranoid about the situation. It's not like Arabs don't have their share of assholes...

Did you read the whole post..

[*]His drivers licence is invalid

They sent Certified letter to both address they had for the Man, Both were returned.

The man was invisible.. to the authorities.. probably used cash to pay for the truck ... and where does he get this money?

Bells and whistles go off for many reasons in my P.O.V.

One=spook, 2=informant, 3=illegal, 4=terrorist, 5=disgruntled former employee. None of the above is GOOd in my book. Who cares about the damages. Call the CBP and FBI about this one for sure.

He got it through illegal funding through terrorist organizations. Whats your point?? You think that there aren't any people in the US working at gas stations or other places and getting cash thats never reported to the IRS.
