If that was a route Michelle wanted to take, she should have followed Hillary's footsteps and run for Senate this year as the incumbant from IL is a Rep. In 2020, it's a fourth term Dem. Unless Durbin decides he's had enough by 2020, no Dem is going to risk losing the seat.
