see, this is why i think no aliens from other worlds contact us

sufficiently advanced civs get to a point where one defect means the destruction of the world, and someone eventually does something wrong, and boom
Yeah. I'm surprised that Trump was President and America survived. I mean, he HAD the nuclear codes! I wonder how many times his aides had to stop him from doing something everyone else other than him would have regretted.

Methinks a warpdrive would involve some clever manipulation of exawatt lasers and supermassive magnets.

I saw this yesterday. From the published paper it looks like the discovery came out of nowhere. The problem is they created the bubble...and had others reproduced the process...on a microscopic scale. The good news is it appears that the effect is scalable, so a bunch of bubbles could be grouped together to affect a larger area.

Will be keeping a close eye on this research. It's big enough that I think mainstream media may pick it up in a week or two.

Interesting. Let’s see if anything worthwhile comes of this. If they can only make it work on small scales maybe in 10 years PCIE 9 will have a 2X light speed interface to the CPU.

And it still uses less energy than Bitcoin mining... globally, I mean, not just myself.

So, Geordi and Miles are doing some testing and diagnostics. They've been through everything and are starting to go over things a second, or maybe third time.

Miles suggests .. 'Let's do the warp drive again'.

Can someone explain this to me like I'm five. What's the significance of the bubble?

Is Scotty going to have enough power for the drives?
