if I had to choose one of the 2 PSU`s...
I would go with the Hiper Type R 580..

But if you were interested in a diffeent brand...
I would also suggest the Fortron!!

why corsair PC3500 and not PC3200? do you plan on overclocking your amd 3500?

if you do overclock, hiper or aerocool should be plenty but double check where the rails are divided, i.e. pci-e 1 from 12v1 and pci-e 2 from 12v2 as running sli will definitely put a toll on the psu with overclocking the cpu.

As for the PSU, I'm not dead set on any one particular brand. The only two requirements are that it can power my 2 7900s and that it be a modular power supply. The AeroCool, Hiper and Ultra X-2 were just three that I had read a few good reviews on.

If I'm not overclocking then PC-3500 is not worth the extra expense? Does the same go for PC-4000 as well?

The Ultras have been known to "blow up" taking components with them. I'd steer clear. That 600w Fortron looks really nice.

I'm probably just going to look at more modular PSUs then. I checked Newegg for any from Fortron but I didn't see any.

There were P180s at centralcomputers.com for $95 buy the deal ended yesterday.

For two graphics cards the best deal ATM is the Enhance ENS-0560G. Silverstone rebrands
it to be thier 600W Strider. For specs http://www.enhanceusa.com/ or http://www.silverstonetek.com/
For reviews http://www.jonnyguru.com/ or http://www.jonnyguru.com/PSUInquisitor be sure to read the reviews at XbitLabs & systemcooling.

It will Froogle at about $110. After much homework, I bought one from eWiz.com while they were still instock for $99.

Enhance must be working on thier site. It comes up but kinda funny. They have new PSU models coming out in three weeks.
Mostly dual rail high efficiency types, 500W and under.
