A Salon article warning of the dangers to democracy if Garland does not prosecute

Moonbeam

Elite Member

The article ponders the possibility that a decision has been made within the government that prosecution is too risky.

The article suggests we are screwed if this is the case.

I suggest that if so that it is institutional liberals and the liberal brain defect that will be the cause of it.

Liberals tend to be paralyzed and unable to confront evil because they lack a real moral center have no real faith or self confidence. They harp but do not act.

The only signs of life I see are beginning to come from those long familiar with the whip of oppression, black activists marching in the streets, and so far too little of it.

PS: Thanks to liberal states and there gun laws the populations most difficult to succumb to fascism will be the easiest to control.

Oh, and a big thanks to Russia for helping to turn the Republican Party against the American people and all without firing a shot. All it takes to beat liberals is evil.

I agree, unless we want every damm election lost by a GOP a round of endless recounts and "audits" trump and everyone involved need to face charges, even if they don't stick go after them.

BULLSHIT asshole. That statement bolder above essentially says liberals have no belief in God or a higher power which is just an ignorant broad rushing of a group. Ain’t true, dipwit.

But of course you’re always correct, aren’t you? Blow that out yet ass.

The Democrats spent the last 4 years "trying to prosecute". Not only was there nothing to prosecute but it turns out the prosecutors were the guilty ones. The FBI released a report showing scant evidence of an organized and coordinated effort behind Jan. 6.

I think you mean that progressive Democrats have tried to prosecute while Republicans have worked to block the effort and it goes nowhere because institutional Democrats don't want a real investigation to cost them votes. The Democratic party is full of moral cowards, folk without a moral center. They willk boil like a bucket of frogs on low heat.

Democracy has a 50/50 chance of surviving past 2025 in America, because of every kind of person from people like Trump to Gaetz to the Arizona GQP, Abbott, DeSantis, Ron Johnson, many other GQP Senators and Congresspeople from the national level to the state level, and many more down to tens of millions of evil folks like brandonbull and taj that will either go along with it or assist in it and ignoramuses like bbhaag that have no idea what is actually going on in this country and think they are just innocent middle of the road people and will feign being amazed when we become a fascist nation. Like it's never happened before in history and the lessons from history aren't plainly laid out for all of us to see already.

Really? The FBI released a report? Do you have a link to that report or are you simply repeating hearsay?

The problem with you traitors, as was known when Thomas Jefferson wrote his letter to William Stephens Smith, is that your ignorance will be cured by your blood in the name of liberty. While there won't be any battles for you to bleed in, I guess dying of covid is the next best thing.

I do not know whether it is to yourself or Mr. Adams I am to give my thanks for the copy of the new constitution. I beg leave through you to place them where due. It will be yet three weeks before I shall receive them from America. There are very good articles in it: and very bad. I do not know which preponderate. What we have lately read in the history of Holland, in the chapter on the Stadtholder, would have sufficed to set me against a Chief magistrate eligible for a long duration, if I had ever been disposed towards one: and what we have always read of the elections of Polish kings should have forever excluded the idea of one continuable for life. Wonderful is the effect of impudent and persevering lying. The British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, and what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves. Yet where does this anarchy exist? Where did it ever exist, except in the single instance of Massachusets? And can history produce an instance of a rebellion so honourably conducted? I say nothing of it’s motives. They were founded in ignorance, not wickedness. God forbid we should ever be 20. years without such a rebellion. The people can not be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independant 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure. Our Convention has been too much impressed by the insurrection of Massachusets: and in the spur of the moment they are setting up a kite to keep the hen yard in order. I hope in god this article will be rectified before the new constitution is accepted.

I'm sure his message would be lost on an idiot like you.

So Trump didn't try to steal the election two ways? With pure lies and pressuring states to overturn their results completely destroying election integrity with nothing but bullshit and then clearly encouraged violence? The insurrectionists didn't just get minutes away from assaulting Congress after assaulting cops?

He just accepted the results?

Are you this fucking dense and oblivious?

America is fucked because there are millions of ignoramuses like you. I mean fucked.

It's reality bro...c'mon.

Fuck me get a brain.

"Just announce the election was corrupt, Leave the rest too me". Trump to his DOJ. Clearly a coup attempt.

Need more evidence or are you going back to sucking?

My negligence. I found the same Salon article and posted a link on another thread.

As for fascism, the Trumpers all deny that they're fascist. Of course they do. Fascism is a slippery concept. But a central aspect is its dependence on lies, or "The Big Lie". How many racists admit that they're racist? Same thing.

They'll say I want political revenge for wanting to see Trump serve hard time. "You just hate Trump!" they'll say. Well, it's easy to hate Trump. He's the antithesis of everything good about the human race. And he's a criminal. As much as I can make it, that is a scientific assessment based on all the facts at my disposal. Does CSI pursue scientific fact, or do they concern themselves with the legal meaning of "reasonable doubt"? CSI may be asked to find more facts to assure that no normal jury would conclude reasonable doubt. But Truth often -- maybe always -- comes with loose threads of uncertainty. Reasonable doubt and judicial determinations accept a bias toward protecting the innocent. And judicial determinations sometimes do not lead to the Truth.

I don't give a good G**D*** whether Trump's base comes away thinking they and their man are being persecuted. I just want Justice. I've seen enough. I want Trump to serve hard time. If that enrages his base, that's just OK hunky-dory. They either deserve a Nuremberg lesson, or they deserve the sock in the face for electing a criminal.

Did you just yelp about me stepping on one of your sacred cows after shouting ready fire aim? I distinctly refered to institutional Democrats and the liberal brain defect as factors of moral relativism. I used a very specific and narrow brush, even mentioning later that progressive Blacks have better understanding so what you accused me of saying that is untrue isn't something I said. This moots the point as to whether I am always correct since you haven't actually challenged anything I said.

Time to ban the Republican party. Fascism sooner or later leads to the same history:
