Well, since "wow" has no specif interpretation I didn't know. Maybe they started their trips before the rains started in and then they got screwed..

actually siberia is as wide as northern pacific ocean. if you want a paved four lane through it it take as much asphalt concrete as needed to cover a state of minnesota twice.

Strange. I was just messing around on google earth, and picked a random place in Siberia to see if there was, well, ANYTHING, in that part of the world. I just so happened to land in Yakutsk. If you follow along the one or two roads leading out of town, you can see that there is simply nothing for a hundred miles in any direction. Now I understand why, you can't get anywhere!

And then this thread showed up. Weird.
 
Oh but the russians have socialist healthcare!

That's why they don't have enouth money for their roads. Oh wait we are headed that way too now.......
