A-ROD cheat picture!!!

Never in my 9 years of playing organized baseball up to High School Varsity nor watching for another 8 have I seen such a classless act of desperation. Hey, I can't beat them with my bat, so I may as well try to cheat to win! But you know what, he fits in well with all of the other cheaters on that team like Sheffield and Giambi. However, it would be a cold day in hell before you see players who actually respect the game, like Jeter/Bernie/Matui, pull a classless act as that. They would have just been happy to advance the runner to 2nd, and would have tried to beat you with their bat the next time up rather than lower themselves to the depths that Arod went. I'm glad his true colors were shown on national TV, I've known he was nothing but a punk from the start.

Get over it Sox fans.

You guys call us Yankee fans fair weather fans but you should speak for yourselves. Where the hell were you guys when the Yanks were up 3-0?

Sit back and enjoy the games and stop being so freaking bitter.

not all of us Bosox fans gave up hope when the yanks were ahead in the series, I've been watching every game and I still think that sox will take it in game 7. Momentum is a big factor when both teams are this exhausted

Sure seemed like a lot of you guys did though.

The only guys I saw in the ALCS thread were the guys you normally see like SP33demon and a few others. Now that its 3-3, all the former crybaby fair weather Sox fans seemed to come out of the woodwork.

Its been a great series so far yet you bitter Sox fans never seem to enjoy the baseball part. You always focus on all the negativity and Yankee bashing. I'll bet if Ortiz did what Arod did, you'd be heaping praise on him just like when Arroyo drilled Arod then Tek proceeded to facialize him. You guys are the biggest spinmasters.

Arroyo drilling Arod is not even relevent... ARod overreacted. It was a breaking ball up and in and Arroyo lost control of the ball. What I can't belive is that Arod tried denying what he did. You can see by the camera also that Arod did it purposely. What poor sportsmanship. Looking at Derek Jeter, though, he did not argue or anything. He just continued to play.

Actually, they showed a couple shots of him arguing, but it was to himself in the dugout... Jeter seems to be one of those guys that gets passionate about his game and his team, but understands where the line is.

I really can't blame Arod for trying it.. I've done it myself on a number of occasions while playing, and took the consequences... Of course he's going to make a case for himself, as he's trying to get the out call reversed. Good job on the umpiring crew though, for the calls they reviewed. Not as exciting a game as 4 or 5, but very entertaining.. boo to the NY fans for trashing the field after the calls... it's one thing to be supportive and cheer your team.. it's another thing entirely to start pitching balls on the damn field!

its those classy New Yorkers

Irrelevant or not, that fight jumpstarted the Sox season yet you guys don't say what Varitek did was bad sportsmanship. How would you like it if you were drilled? Wouldn't you be pissed too? If Varitek was telling him to calm down and move along why didn't he do the same thing? He was the one that started the physical altercation yet you guys don't bash him but praise him. You guys villify Arod about not coming to Boston yet it was your management that couldn't pull the trigger because you were too cheap to do it. Whatever. Excuses. Excuses.

I have no doubts if the play was reversed and it was Boston doing the ball slapping, all of Boston would be in an uproar. You guys love to spin things in your own direction yet whine and complain when it doesn't work in your favor. Just live with it. You won. On to the next game. No more excuses or whining whether you win or lose game 7. I know the Yankees won't complain because they have something the Sox never will have. Class.

yeah, it's just so classy to throw baseballs on the field.......

As for getting hit by a pitch....you don't see Jeter mouthing off when he gets hit....

As for Arod not coming to Bo-Sox...I did not want him to come here in the first place. Even if Nomar may have been a club house cancer, I still liked him better.

that is prohibited in the rulebook. good argument though

Your point? Part of the game, been so forever, not cheating like slapping the ball out of the persons hand whos trying to tag you. ask clemens or pedro what a good purpose pitch will do to an opposing batter.

whoops my bad, thought u were referring to the A-rod slapping hand incident, not pitchers hitting batters, got me all confused. I have nothing against batters getting hit, and also agree its part of the game. Only time i have a problem with hit batters is when pitchers throw nasty fastballs at a batters head.

so it ok to break certain rules at certain times........riiiiiiighhhhhhhht

I dont think its ok to break the rules but every single team in baseball has pitchers that occasionally hit batters. Its not right and pitchers get ejected for doing it too much but as a rule it has been overlooked by the leauge for a long long time. I'm not saying its right or legal to throw at batters but it has come to be accepted/expected in the majors, therefore I dont consider it breaking the rules when throwing at a batter.

Throwing at batters has been accepted as common practise for the better part of 100 years in baseball... brushing someone of your strikezone is part of the game.. throwing at their face or head however, is unwarranted, and should be dealt with harshly, though it hard to prove intent on a breaking ball.. 😀

I'm neither a sox fan or a Yankee fan. But I would like to see teams that went without winning a world series in decades win. Hard for me to say since the Red Sox are filled with more jerks than the Yankees.

Who are these jerks?

Let's see:

Pedro for throwing at people.
Schilling and Damon for talking trash before the series even started (I don't like any players that talk trash, leave that to fans)
Redsox ownership for calling yanks evil empire and asking for salary cap while they spend a lot themselves.
Varitek for starting a fight.
The entire team for looking like a biker gang.

No prob, i agree with what you say about the purpose pitches, not tryin to defend anyone who throws at a batters head.

well pedro throwing at people is a moot point cause all pitchers hit batters

schilling and damon did talk a little trash but so what happens all the time in sports and in this rivalry its to be expected, I'd rather have an emtional team than a team of walking robots.

Everybody calls the yanks an evil empire for their spending habits, and the sox werent the only team to want a salary cap, again a non argument.

Tek probally thought he was protecting his pitcher but ill give u that he shouldnt have hit arod first. But what about Sturtze flying out of the bullpen and attacking red sox players, only to end up losing the fight.

Looks do not matter. I dont care if they were all painted orange. Way to sterotype a group of people. Could say the yanks look like a bunch of preppy cocky pricks but that doesnt make them jerks, they just look like jerks.

Pedros been brushing back hitters for years now. No big surprise there
Schilling owns the yanks(see 2001 WS) so he can talk whatever he wants, he can back it up. Captain Caveman, however, should shut his mouth and hit the ball.
Who cares about what RS management says, everyone takes shots at the Yankees free spending ways.
ARod started that fight. Watch any other player get plunked( a player with class) and walk to first.
Theyre a 98-win team who has rallid froma 0-3 hole, thay can look however they want.

There's a difference between hitting batters and throwing at batters if you didn't notice.

How would you Sox fans like it if Clemens constantly threw at your heads. Talked trash, pointed fingers at your dugout and threw an ancient man down to the ground?

You also have to realize that Arroyo is a skinney little stick. Arod would have killed him! I don't blame Varitek warning him and tellng him to walk. But he did start the fight though.

ARod hit a grounder to the pitcher, Arroyo. Arroyo raced to the bag, but ARod stopped just before first, grabbed the pitcher and bodyslammed him into the turf. Then ARod spiked Arroyo in the face. Unbelieveably the ump called ARod safe. Francona wisely used one of his challenges though and after further review, the call was reversed and ARod was shot in the face by the SWAT team on the field.

LOL (damn you)

umm Ancient man charged Pedro, pedro grabbed his head and lightly directed him towards the ground. There is no way Pedro could have THROWN Zimmers fatass. And if clemens had done it I would have thought it justified. OLD OVERWEIGHT COACHES should not be able to charge players and then expect no retailation. Zimmer should have kept his ass on the bench and out of harms way. He got what he deserved for letting his emtions take over.

And remember Clemens did throw a bat at a certain catcher, and is known for going inside on batters

Ok. And @sshole pitchers should not be able to throw at batters and expect no retaliation one way or another.

Forgot to add Manny to the jerk players list. Last years antics were worse than this years by far (so far) but he's definitely out there. Interesting that we tried to get ARod by ditching Manny, so I guess those two cancel out now. 🙂

Don't care, it is part of the game, the Umps did a great job catching it so all is good.

i agree, if a pitcher throws at somebody and the person retaliates its part of the game. I have no problem with players charging the mound and defending themselves. Coaches on the other hand have no right to attack other players.
I think most pitchers know there will be retailiation if they throw at batters, and since pitchers dont bat in the AL the only way to do it is to charge the mound, and that is fine with me.
