A riddle to solve...

"A Nonconformist mount and a teacher with a message may be the first place to find."


I am taking a business technology class this semester... it's a new class that my school is testing out that covers wiki's, podcasting, Smartphone programming and things like that.

The teacher has riddles we have to figure out to get prizes, and to get to the next step of class.

The problem comes in the fact that almost no one knows what it means, and I have no idea where to start.

The only things I can think of that might help to figure it out are that he rides motorcycles and flies planes. That might be the nonconformist mount... but I'm not sure.

Is there any way you could give some help?

I'm thinking along the lines of a lecturn, upon which would be mounted a lecture...delivered by the teacher. But that's a pretty vague clue.

I have no idea what it could possibly mean, nor do I care to attempt to figure it out. Sounds like a complete waste of time given the subject matter of the class and I'd think your prof could find more relevent activities for his students if he wasn't such a dumbass.

Today in class he said - given the nature of the class, it has something to do with, or requires the use of such devices to figure the riddle out.

Oooh...I've got another guess! It might be like mounting drives on a Mac (Apple users could be seen as nonconformists). Apples relate to teachers, right? Maybe it has something to do with teaching people through podcasting?

The nonconformist Mac (Apple remains niche and separate from the majority) is a mount ("An object to which another is affixed or on which another is placed for accessibility, display, or use...") through which a teacher (apples relate perfectly to teachers) could place his message in the form of a podcast.

Probably thinking too deeply.

A podcast can be hosted on any Mac.

Is this riddle supposed to be something related to your classroom experience, or is it the traditional kind of "theoretical" riddle?
