Yelp is a scam. They will offer help removing negative reviews if restaraunts buy promotion packages with them.
Also, it is common now for employers to have their employees leave fake positive reviews.

No they don't. Straight up lie.
Actually tallbill, what OCGuy said has some weight to it. Several businesses ate starting lawsuits. And some seem to have some damning evidence.
Yes, I totally made it up just to be paranoid about your foodie-wannabe site....

Google, facebook, etc etc etc have all been sued.
Every company has been sued before.
Yes, they do, not a lie.
But Yelp is still useful. A lot of foodies use Yelp and it's a good indicator if a place is good or not. 4 stars with plentiful reviews means you have a good shot at liking the place.
If you want to see the craziest Yelp reviewers, go check out Austin. The crazy ass Austonians give negative reviews if the restaurant doesn't have a recycling bin or some other stupid ass green-nazi shit.

I mostly only write reviews when I have a bad experience with things. I think all 10 of mine are negative. Not one have been removed..
I hope Yelp has a better defense in court than "Well everyone gets sued, so this class-action should be dismissed!"
Actually tallbill, what tallbill said has some weight to it. Now I am fucking starving.
That's incredibly unfair to businesses. Unfortunately this is a common concept with society in general. I've had 2 customers email corporate about bad experiences that they had where I work while I was working. Thankfully both were kitchen related, and not much I could do about it. But I've had a 100 times more happy customers that come through the door, I doubt any of them have emailed corporate.
